I am Ethan Ferris, and years ago, I made a decision to seek truth at any cost, instead of remaining blissfully ignorant. If you have made the same choice, then I am very glad to have another companion on this journey, and I look forward to learning form you!
Ferris Philosophy is a tool to that end - a challenge I have issued to myself. I'm a private person by nature. I don't like attracting attention to myself, and I tend to be sensitive to criticism. Not an attitude that is conducive to finding the truth. Ferris Philosophy is a testing ground for my ideas. This means that I welcome criticisms, explanations of why I am wrong, and demands to post more (seriously, please get after me if I'm not posting).
While the name Ferris Philosophy did in part come from my own name, Ferris has its roots in Celtic, where it meant rock, or iron. I chose this name because truth is just so — iron. Truth does not bend to anyone’s preferences, it is unyielding, and in the right hands, it can be fashioned into miraculous tools. I hope to make Ferris Philosophy my personal forge.
With this in mind, you can begin to understand what Ferris Philosophy is. This is not about abstract musings or complex theories (OK, maybe just a little abstract musing), it's about raw truth and how to forge it into something beautiful.
You don’t have to agree with everything I say — in fact, if you can prove me wrong, please do! My mission is not to stand on high and issue dictates, my mission is to think, and to maybe make you think. This is the chronicle of a journey in progress - in fact, it's just beginning!
